Chemin de Fer is possibly one of the more favoured games bet on in casinos. Blackjack is also referred to as "twenty one" or Chemin de Fer. The game is a mix of chance and ability combined with choices. The card game has adapted over a period of time. Players have specialized in certain skills like "card counting," which allows them to turn the edge in the game in their direction. The card game has been in existence since the 18th century. References can be found in historical scriptures to a game referred to as "vingt-et-un," which in French means 21, and is deemed as the precursor to black jack.

The card game was initially not very popular in the united states of america. This caused the betting houses attempting different things like offering a reward in case of a ten to one payout, if the player was dealt an ace of spades and a black jack. The jack could be either clubs or spades. After the game got well-known, the reward payout before long vanished from the game.

Any hand which reaches a sum of twenty one is deemed a winner. The value can not exceed twenty one, if it does the hand is said to be "bust." The aim of any player is to defeat the casino. If the player and the dealer both have an identical hand value, it is called "push," with not either the player nor the dealer coming away with a win on the hand.
